I use these for my wall tent and pound them in with a sledge hammer. Living in the desert tent stakes tend to have an exceptionally short life. But none pf these have bent yet and its been four years. They are heavy so I wouldn't consider them for backpacking. But if you are hauling gear in with your truck and weight isn't a consideration these are your best option.
After my first weekend in my tent, I knew I needed beefier metal stakes vs. the little guys that came with the tent. These metal angled stakes are tough and easy to use....and rock solid. I had strong winds (and I later learned there were tornado warnings) one summer evening .....but the stakes held and the tent stayed put. What more could one want ?
