Cabela's Berber Extreme Parka Reviews:

Warmer Parka Ever

After spending 8 hrs on stand in -9 degree cold this past MN deer season, I decided to upgrade for extreme temps by purchasing this fantastic parka and matching bibs. I already have all kinds of great Cabelas cold weather gear, Classic parka, bibs, down underwear, EWACS underwear, Stand Hunter Mittens, etc. so I can handle cold weather quite well, but below 0 weather all day will tax most gear. Until now!
This parka and bibs arrived last week, just in time for the season's coldest weather where we experienced temps -30 at night and -19 in the day for highs. Perfect weather to test this parka. Wearing only a shirt and this parka, going to the mail box and being out in -25 temps I could feel NO cold. This isn't like being on a stand, but gave me a good idea of how it will perform in extreme temps.I did not wear the bibs, but know that the combination will be unbelievable in extreme cold temps. The bibs will need to be carried to the stand as they are very heavy and made for sitting not walking. Both are very quiet and the combination will be super warm . The arms on the parka are easy to move as Cabelas has varied the thickness of the insulation. Thicker in the back and body and thinner in the arms so you can move easily. I was impressed with the large hand warmer pockets in the parka which are large enough for hands with large mittens. The hood is can be removed with a zipper. I have the Canadian Stand Hunter mittens and just ordered Still Hunter 1400 Pac boots to complete my cold weather hunting attire for next hunting season. If you want the best in cold weather gear, look no farther.

Best Jacket.

I purchased many jackets in my life; some very expensive, like Sleeping Indian, KOM and too many to mention. This by far is the best balanced one I have bought so far. I Bow hunt in cold windy conditions and have always had problems staying warm when the Temperature dips below 20. I received, and tested this jacket this weekend and was impressed. It is heavy but when it’s on you the weight is not noticeable. (The fit, comfort, warmth is worth it). I sat for three hours in the thirties with the wind blowing 20 kts. Plus. Wind chill off about 22 and one layer of Under Armor and kept warm. When zipped up the fit is great especially in the chin area, makes shooting the Bow very easy. (It fits close to the outside of the bottom of the chin and does not interfere with the string), sitting or standing.. Well balanced Jacket. Cons: Heavy about 5lbs. But equal warmth would require layers that will weigh as much, If not more. Great product Cabelas!

Very Warm

The jacket and bibs together are incredibly warm. This is made to be sitting on stand, not walking around or being too active. It feels bulky when on, but had plenty of clearance when shooting my bow. It is heavy, but very comfortable. In 40 degree weather I had a t-shirt on underneath and was still a little too warm! In 10 degree weather I was comfortable! Highly recommended. Sale price is a steal.

Very Warm

If you looking for a parka to keep you warm this is it. We have had some below 0 temps when I walk our dog at night and this coat has kept me warm, I also have worn in the deer stand with single digit temps and I was warm. The only thing I can say to put it over the top would be gore-tex lining.
