Cabela's Bunkhouse Tent 7-Person -
The dome shape of this 7-person tent is able to withstand winds better than many straight-wall tents and also allows rain or snow to naturally slide off. The tent and rain fly are both made of weather-resistant polyester taffeta coated with polyurethane for added protection from precipitation. Sturdy fiberglass poles equipped with steel ferrules ensure easy and sturdy setup. The large D-shaped front door and window feature strong polyester zippers, as do the additional four reverse-U-shaped windows. Window and roof mesh are fine polyester to keep bugs at bay while allowing air to circulate inside. The bathtub-style floor is durable 210-denier, 1,200mm polyester with polyurethane waterproofing. An interior center height of more than 80" allows for ample headroom. Two mesh pockets inside for storing small items. Includes steel V-style stakes, 3mm-diameter guy lines and a weather-resistant carry bag. Imported.
Capacity: 7 people.

Cabela's Bunkhouse Tent 7-Person Reviews:

Love this tent!

This tent makes our other family tent look like a toy. The tent isn't that much bigger then our tent but weights about 4 times as much. All of the hardware is a lot more beefier then our other tent and the tent steaks didn't bend the first time we drove them into the ground like on our other one. We set it up just to make sure everything was there and that there wasn't anything missing in it. I will do another review after I try it out if I find any thing wrong with it. I don't think this tent will have a problem with the wind because the day we set it up; it was pretty windy and the tent didn't budge. I also didn't feel the wend blow right through the fabric like it did on our other tent. My wife was also pretty impressed with the Bunkhouse Tent. She got pretty mad at me when she found out I spent that much for a tent, She couldn't figure out why it should cost that much more then our old one did. But after she seen it put together she had a change of heart. I was kinda hoping I would be in the dog house that night so I could try out the tent, but she was so impressed with the quality of the tent that she wasn't mad at me for spending that much anymore. I agree with all of the other reviewers that said the instructions are unclear. All of the "Y" joints make the assembly different then the other tent we have but I was able to figure it out pretty quickly. The most confusing part was the "Y" joints for the grey rods, I got to that point and was ready to take it back apart and call Cabela's and tell them that they were missing. I happened to look on each end of the tent and seen that they were already tied onto the tent with little baggies on them. We were able the assemble the tent check everything out and have everything put back away in it's bag in just over an hour. We could probably put the tent up a lot quicker next time after we kind of know what we are doing now. Its also hard to tell from the photos how big the awnings are on the front and back of the tent, which should help to keep the water out if it rains. I also like how well this tent packs away in its own bag.Its all we can do to get our other one back in its bag and if feel like the zipper will break as we try to zip it up. Overall I am very happy with our purchase and can't wait to try it out.

EZ Up and the children stayed out all night

We love this tent! You need to have a second set of hands for the stage when the first main poles go into position lest you apply excessive force to the first pole which the instructions say is bad. The momentary look of doubt that passes over your wife's face as you instruct her to hold still and tell the kids to get their sleeping bags is pretty good too. Easy assembly once you figure out the second set of Y connectors are covered by little bags and attached to the tent. You can even do it with two five year old children helping in the dark with a flash light stuck in your mouth. Hopefully I will get home from work before dark next time

Found setup a bit awkward

Tent is spacious as advertised. My 6' tall wife could stand up inside, and that cemented this purchase. This tent was very breathable and comfortable for a family of 4. Did not experience rain to test effectiveness of fly or floor dryness (presume they are fine). Only major knock (and this is probably on me) is that setup was somewhat awkward, given 1) the limited instructions sewn into the tent tote bag, and 2) I had to setup tent alone. It would help immensely to have an assistant. Hardest step was getting the fly properly oriented.

Good Tent

Used this September during elk season and have nothing but good things to say. We experienced multiple periods of rain and snow and up to 50mph winds and the tent took all of the weather with no problems. Only reason rated 4 stars instead of 5 is the slight difficulty in putting it up. Two people can do it, three makes it much easier.
