Fabulous Fit and Comfort But...

First off, I love the way these fit! I am very short and have a very short waist. This modern rise fits perfectly! The wide waistband and close fit at the hips keep these up without slipping or riding up (or down). The wide legs give me much more freedom of movement when hiking up nearly vertical trails than standard jeans, and keep me cool, too!
However, like most women's pants, the pockets are much smaller than I would like. The back pockets are barely large enough to hold a folded bandana, and the seventh pocket is just about big enough to hold a dollar bill folded twice-in other words, it is tiny and basically useless. Also, the fabric is not as tough as I would have thought. When hiking in our mountains, the only place to sit is on rocks, and some slopes require a bit of sliding down. Not a problem with jeans, but after a dozen wearings of these I already had a tear in one of my back pockets! Very disappointing, but I still love the pants.
