Cabela's Chimney Spark Arrester Reviews:

good piece of mind when tenting

I bought one of these to go with my Cabelas barrel tent stove. The spark arrester that came with the stove was lame. I used this item in a recent elk hunt where the stove was used about 10 hours out of every 24. Not one burn hole in my tent after a week. The only down size, was its propensity to plug up. I had to take it off about once every 24 hours and tap it on a rock to knock the crude out of the wire mess. Otherwise my tent would fill with smoke when the stove door was opened. The spark arrester did clean easily, so it was really no big deal. Just make sure your stove pipe has cooled before doing the job.

Spark Arrester

Purchased just prior to my elk hunt this year. We experienced heavy snow and cold weather. Used the stove a lot. I never observed sparks coming from the spark arrester and it worked great. The wood in the area I camp in creates a lot of soot. I removed the arrester daily and used a small stick to scrape it and tap on it to remove the soot. The price and time it takes to clean it daily is a small price to pay for the security of knowing your tent will not have embers burn holes in it and knowing you are not going to start the forest on fire. Great Product!

Chiminea cap

My chiminea from New Mexico has a decorative cap that doesn't allow enough draft, so the fires are smoky. Taking the cap off isn't safe due to the sparks. This spark arrestor doesn't look all that pretty on top of my classic terra cotta chiminea but is sure is alot safer.

Cabela's spark arrester

I found this perfect to protect my tent from sparks and soot from my woodburning stove. It is very durable and easy to assemble.
