Cabela's Deluxe Tent Cot Single Reviews:

Will work great for me

I own a full size tent, but that is a pain to use for a weekend, or a vacation where I'm travelling from place to place. I saw this tent cot in Cabela's catalog, and thought that it would be perfect for me, it will be. I have not used it outdoors yet, but I have set it up inside. the instructions could be better, but I still had this set up in less time than my full size tent. Take down is even easier, as is setting it up since I know the tricks now. I can set it up in 5 minutes, and packing it back up is just as quick. No more drying and cleaning my full size tent when I'm on the move! The thing is heavy and bulky, but that translates into roomy and sturdy while I'm using it. There's more than enough room for me, and I'm a big guy, both tall and wide. I would suggest setting up at home first, both to learn the tricks to setting it up, and to let it air out. I was going to sleep in mine the first night, but the smell of chemicals used to either waterproof or make the fabric fire retardant was overwhelming at first. After leaving it set up for two days, most of the smell is gone, and the fabric is stretching out so that it's easier to set up quickly. The cot by itself is comfy, I have a foam pad that I use anyway, that makes this unit even more comfy. People have complained about the center bar under the cot, that doesn't come into play while I'm sleeping, but I am careful about avoiding it as I crawl in and out of the unit. Yes, I've slept in it the past two nights while it's set up in my living room to make sure that it is what I hoped it would be, and it is. All in all, I can see that it's going to work great for me as far as what I intend to use it for. That will be overnight fishing trips and vacations when I don't stay in one place for more than a night or two. Heck, I could see myself camping for a week out of this unit. It seems to be well made, it has many nice touches from the cup holders to the reflective pulls, plenty of ventilation, it's everything I want and need in a quick to set up and take down tent.

Tent cot a real performer

I bought one of your deluxe tent cots, the first I have owned. Just got back from 8 days of camping and offroading which covering 1100 miles of Baja. The tentcot performed great. It was comfortable, warm, and handled Pacific winds well. I'll not use a regular tent again. This is a much heavier product than I expected but my application is truck to camp, camp to truck so weight was a benefit to keep the wind from blowing the tentcot around.

ATV Trips in the Mountains

We bought two of the double wides so we could store our gear on one side of the cot. Works great!! We put them on small trailers behind our 4 wheelers and head up the trails to camp where others can't or won't. Plenty of room to sleep on one side and store your backpack, clothes, etc. on the other side. Wish I would have bought one years ago. Can't wait to take my Grandsons with me on a trip!

Great Gear

Quick easy setup, gets you off the ground and is comfy, the only problem I had was moisture build up in the inside, since I had to use rain fly each time I used. It did not vent very well a tent fan should resolve the issue.
