Only issue is cosmetic

I run the 7'6" with inline boards for walleye, these rods have been great. By having the line internal and against the blank, you get the pressure on the entire rod length, instead of the just eyes (on top of the rod as well, while the line pull toward the rod to begin with). The only issue we have the yellowing, and lets be honest...that doesn't effect the rod's performance...just means they have been well used in the sun!!!!

Good kids pole

I bought this because I could see that the line would not tangle around the end eyelet. Found that it helped getting the line out for attaching to down rigger. Only drawback I could see is that the line gets some drag as debris (jelly fish) gets in the small line opening on the end. Shake it in the water a bit and its clear. Big plus, the kids won't break the eyelets when they step on it.

Great rod

I have used the rod on down riggers for Lake trout and it works great. With the line inside the rod there are no tangles with other poles while the pole is bouncing around in the boat between spots.

parts falling off

I bought this for tube/worm trolling for striped bass. Iniitially satisfied, but now find that the carbide ring at the entrance to the hawse has poped out causing my line to drag across the edge of a brass tube into the blank body. I have the ring and will try to epoxy it back in to last the duration of this season. Then I will return it for a refund at Scarborough where I bought it. The blank is also beginning to yellow, not offensive, but noticable. I like the concept, but question the quality!
