My dog ate my old one...

New puppy, old big box store hunting coat (that worked fairly well for 10 years), and a pile of chewed up orange just 2 days into deer season. I hunted the first week of NY's fall season this year in a t-shirt and jeans (it was in the 60's). Cabelas shipped this to me 2nd day at no extra charge (THANKS!), and what a coat. We hunted the rest of the season regardless of the weather, and this is a great jacket. Bright, warm, well thought out, and reasonably priced. Don't listen to the other reviews about noise, mine is soft, quiet, and very well made. Kept me dry and warm on 5 degree and 40 degree days, rain, snow, sleet, etc. Strangest zipper pulls ever (they are like grasshopper feet, sort of sticky), but they make sense now - they grab the fabric and don't flop around, cool (tiny) detail. Now if I can just keep the Lab from grinding this down, I'll be good. THANKS FOR A GREAT COAT!

Great size and warmth

I hate the cold. Probably why I live in Texas. Yes, we have cold wet days. And this jacket takes them all on! Love the size. I got the 2XL long and need it at 6 feet 5 inches. This coat rocks! Great color and warm enough to take anything. I could enjoy being outside in the cold with this jacket to warm me. Others were shaking and fighting for a place by the fire. Me? I wanted to go out hunting! Warm, quiet, and water resistant. This is the jacket you'll wish you had when the weather turns nasty.

Just what the doctor ordered!!

I am a picky shopper when it comes to hunting gear with me being 6'4 200lbs. This jacket is a great fit for me. Plenty of length in the arms and torso and very warm.

Very noisy but otherwise excellent

The Blaze Horizon pattern, fit (medium tall for me), warmth, and shell loops are all exceptionally good. HOWEVER, I don't understand how either Cabela's or other buyers could rate this parka as quiet. The brushed fabric is anything but.
If I'm on stand with my back up against a tree and lean forward, the sound is almost as bad as separating Velcro. Noise is also a problem when I brush against limbs when still hunting. My acrylic Ten-Mile-Cloth blaze vest is considerably quieter in these scenarios!
Although this parka's existing pockets are well designed and positioned, it badly needs a large, zippered, side-entrance rear pocket that extends across the back of the coat (for larger items like game cameras and folding limb saws).
