Great Compromise

This coat is a great compromise between a super lightweight breathable shell, and a heavy duty PVC non-breathable coat. I had been looking for a good, durable waterproof-breathable coat for a while, however many of the competitors’ fabrics are very lightweight and seem delicate. So I’d resisted buying one for fear of it being shredded the first time through the woods while snow-shoeing or hiking. The nylon shell is relatively heavy, but sturdy and seems very durable. So far it has worked well in the cold/snow (with some layering underneath) and in the rain (with no/minimal layering underneath). The cuffs are pretty nice, but the hood can be a little clumsy when you don’t need it. The coat fits well, but keep in mind it is sized a little large to accommodate the zip-in liner (so without the liner it is a little baggy). Also, the front dual zipper is handy when you need to sit down, but is a little small and can be tricky to get started, particularly in the cold with gloved hands. I don’t think it is quite worth the full retail price, but definitely worth considering if its on sale and you’re looking for a good all-around waterproof breathable.

Good Value

Great fit and workmanship. I and my Son both bought this garment and really like the fit and comfort.

Negative Reviews:

looked good but...

This jacket was stiff and noisy. The zipper was hard to operate and was too bulky with the fleece liner added. I returned it.

Neutral Reviews:

Good quality jacket.

Good quality jacket. But the color of the jacket is not such as in the photo. Color differs very much, so I was very angry. Ideal for hiking, biking or motorcycle. Can be put in bad weather. From rain and wind protection is good.
