Cabela's Dry-Plus Grand Teton Systems Parka Tall Reviews:

A good coat

I bought this coat over a year ago with the down liner. I wear it all the time. I work outdoors maintaining mountaintop communication sites, so I need a good, weatherproof, versatile coat. This has been a good option for me. The construction of the coat has been great, the fabric is tough and durable. I did manage recently to break the Zipper, but Cabela's is replacing the coat for free. the coat sheds water well and keeps me warm and dry. much of the year, the liner is uneccessary. the coat is great for layering under. one other thing is that the fit of the coat tends to be a little tight at the bottom for things like straddling a snowmobile or four-wheeler, but the dual zipper helps with that. Overall, this has become my favorite coat. If you baby the zipper a little, it will last a long time and keep you warm and dry.

Great waterproof parka!

Great piece of gear. Truly waterproof. Prior reviews warned of cheap plastic zippers but the zippers are indeed YKK waterproof zippers and they have a different appearance than a normal zipper. So that makes it even more waterproof! Since they are waterproof zippers you should take your time in zipping up/down because the zipper is such a watertight fit. But as long as you understand that, you will be good. If you really try to zip it up fast it will get caught. This shell is even compatible with previous generation Cabelas 3 in 1 liners so no need to really buy a new liner for this parka if you already have one. All in all, great jacket that will be going through its paces this winter for Steelhead season.

Nice jacket

This jacket seems to be a high quality jacket. Pretty stiff right out of the bag and will probably need to broken in. The seams are all nicely taped on the inside and it is very roomy, I ordered the tall for the extra length. It does not appear to fit small. I plan on using this for spring and fall fishing along with the polartec 200 fleece lining. Both pieces came together perfectly. Zippers do feel a little stiff and cheap but I believe they are not. They have very small teeth to keep the elements out. I think once properly broken in they will be just fine. Overall it appears to be a great coat for outdoor activities.

So far so good

I only tried it a few times towards the end of the ski season. It keeps the wind out, heavy construction. Seems to be sturdy. I am going to purchace the down liner at the beginning of the 2012 ski season, I am sure it will keep me very warm. All I can say is I am a little concerned about the zipper. Hope it lasts. But so far so good. Oh one other thing, the hood, I agree with the other reviews, should have a liner, or a place to stash it when not in use. Works as a parachute when I'm flying down the hill.
