Great lightweight wader pants!
I'm always skeptical about purchasing foot ware online, but thanks to the few good reviews I took a shot at it, and couldn't be more pleased. I used these waders on a recent Moose hunt in Alaska, temperatures were between 40 and 55 degrees, mostly rain for a 6 day hunt. We had one river crossing that was just too deep for regular waders, and very wet brush to deal with. My hunting partner bought a fairly expensive set of lightweight waders, and brought his neoprene chest waders for crossing the river, and was miserable the entire trip, constantly having to wear raingear over his waders to keep his midsection dry, which caused him to sweat to the point where his hip boots were wet. The Milennium wader jeans gave me no problems, hiking as much as 10 miles a day through thick alders, heavy sand, swamp, and sharp puckerbrush. No rips, tears, and much more breathable than any other wader that I've ever worn. The boots fit good as well, I will probably get an insole with a touch more padding however. For reference, I'm 5'10", 230 lbs, and wear a size 10.5 to 11 shoe. I ordered the size 11 and it fits great with 1 pair of regular (or thin) hunting socks. Thick wool socks would make them a bit tight. As for the waist fitment, I had room for light layers, when I wore a thick sweatshirt, these were a touch tight around the midsection, so on cold mornings, I would wear a thermal top inside, and a hoodie over the pants and under my jacket. These are essentially just a light shell, which allows the user the option to wear layers to keep warm or cool. I found that just one pair of thermals, or even a pair of shorts was just right for hiking in these temperatures.
Best waders/pants purchase
I have been through about 6 pairs of different types of waders throughout the years. These waders have worked out to be the best pair. They are easy to put on and take off plus they shed water and the boots don't collect water because they are attached to the wader. I wear my waders for hunting, fishing and working at a hunting club. They are strong enough to go through spiney grass and the boots are comfortable and good fitting. I bought two sizes bigger on the shoe size for easy on and off. Great buy........I plan on buying the camo pair in the near future for a back up pair and just because they work so well......and they breath so no sweaty legs or bottom.
Excellent boot. Used them for deer and duck hunting in Arkansas. Waded through buck brush, flooded timber, and waded to my deer stands that I have near the water and hunted all day. Very comfortable and durable, no tears or leaks after putting them through the test. Will be ordering another pair. They are not great for super cold weather but I guess you could put on more under garments.
