Cabela's Garmin eTrex 10 GPS Unit Reviews:

Does the job!

I have one of the old Etrex 10 which is good but not enough room for the name of the waypoints. This new Erex 10 is better where that is concerned. The new one takes a lot of playing with to learn how to use it. One thing I have noticed about this one is sometime when you hit the select button to select a function like deleting a waypoint there is a delay and you wonder if you actually hit the delete button. It's like it's thinking. So when you select a function, sometimes you have to wait maybe fifteen seconds or so. If you are in a hurry, this can be aggravating. After time practicing it works fine and does the job. I like the Trackback function on both of my Etrex 10s. I hunt in the bottom land of Arkansas and when I wade a slough in one spot, unless you return on the same route you may not be able to get back across because the slough is to deep. This can be a little disturbing if you have thirty minutes of light left and you can't get back to where the boat is parked without swimming. The back track takes care of that problem. For the money it beats anything out there I have seen.
