Cabela's Getaway 2-Person Tent Reviews:

Easy Peasy

I purchased this tent for a 9 day motorcycle trip. It sets up quickly. Take down and storage takes a little longer but all in all is pretty convenient. I like that the fly creates a nice covered space outside of the tent for things like boots. I used a twin size blow up mattress that fit snuggly on one side with room for the rest of my gear in the tent. I do wish it was just a bit taller. Even though I am only 5' 2" I find it easier to get out of a tent if I can stand even hunched over to step out rather than crawl out. But for the size it was it worked great.

Working OK so far

I just purchased this tent, and took it on a single-night backpacking trip with my son. I'm 6'1", and just barely fit lengthwise without touching both ends. There is a small vestibule between the door and rain fly, big enough for shoes and a small backpack. The tent sets up very quickly and easily, and fits back into the bag no problem. We didn't get rained on, so I can't comment on weatherproofing. It seems to be reasonably well built, and we had no problems with it. Long-term durability is TBD.

Just Right

I bought this tent last summer for solo camping and it is just right. I'm 6'6" and cannot sleep comfortably in a one-man tent. This tent has plenty of room for me. I also love the mesh top that allows for star gazing at night, and it gets good air circulation on hot nights. I've used it in the rain, and the fly worked great. No water penetration. Finally, since it is rectangular, a basic 4' x 8' tarp provides a decent footprint.
