Cabela's Gun Dog Gs-7001 Training Collar Reviews:

The unit was nice I like the design and the features. Unfortunately, I had trouble charging the transmitter. I charged it for the recommended 2 hours and the transmitter did not turn on. I had to pull the cord/plug and wrap it around the antenna to get it charging. The transmitter did charge and the unit worked fine until it was used in the field. My dog did not respond to any stimulation. I test the unit with the test light and no response. I try resetting the receiver to the transmitter and didn't get any response. I was disappointed and returned the item.

Man, I should have read the reviews too. Cabelas should yank this from the shelves instead of offering it at a discount. I can't adjust the volume of the tone so my dog can even hear it. That is an inhumane waste. If he learns to go off the beep, I shouldn't have to stimulate him. Then, I tried the locate feature and it beeps on the handheld transmitter not the receiver. Lotta good that does if you lose the receiver. I am going to return this one and get a SportDog similar model. I have 3 of those and they work great.

So far, not so good

I bought the gs-7001 series for my dog but i can adjust the volume for tone. my dog cant hear anything from the receiver so he wont know what he's getting shocked for. it doesn't help the the the stimulation mode works on and off as it pleases. Does anyone know how to fix these problems?
