Cabela's Heidi Water-Repellent Shearling Tall Boots Review:

More than I expected!

I took these out hiking in the snow (groomed trail with some 6" snow drifts here and there) expecting to get my feet a little wet because the descriptions says water resistant, not waterproof. I did spray a little water repellent stuff on the boots before hand. I also felt a little dampness on the back of my heel after 2 1/2 miles but by the time I got back to the car my heels were dry. Weird, maybe it's so warm inside that it dried my socks. The boots were awesome! After my hike, I lifted up my snow pants and the whole boot was wet on the outside but my feet were warm and dry on the inside and I only wore thin cotton socks! I loved how light and comfortable they were when I was hiking.
I DID however use them to walk to work in the early morning and slipped and fell on ice. So I wouldn't recommend wearing them to walk around where there's ice but a couple inches of powder would be fine. Cabela's boots are my favorite for outdoor winter activity. They definitely do the job on keeping your feet warm and they are durable.
