Cabela's Hunter Series Flashlights Reviews:

Really good light but......

I really like my Cabela's XPG 80 lumen flashlight. It's bright orange, lightweight, and relatively bright. The latter point is where I deduct one star. I have another Cabela's flashlight which is 85 lumens and 2 Surefire G2 LED's, both 85 lumens IIRC. However, they all seem much brighter than the mere 5 lumens more as the specs would imply. The XPG is plenty bright, but just not nearly so as the others which are supposedly only 5 lumens more bright.

Great alternative to SureFire G2s

Now that the SureFire G2s seem to have disappeared this is a great alternative. What is even better is that the light's color is more of a natural yellow/orange like an incandescent, which is great for blood trailing. Makes the blood pop right up. it is still super bright. And I love the orange body - hard to lose. Hexagonal shape on front and back keep it from rolling. I also like the push-on, push-off feature, which the G2 didn't have.

Good Light for the Money

The Cabelas XPG is a good light for the money. It has a good beam for short distances (up to75'). I was a little disappointed that it has a plastic body, but the orange color won't let you lose it. I've used it once in the field and I can say it worked well. It is a good all purpose light for the pickup to use in emergencies and for those short hikes to the blind.
