Cabela's Jim Shockey Signature Series Frame/Pack Combo -
This pack is hands down one of the most innovative packs to ever hit the market. The frame stands upright, so you can shoot or glass off of it. Sure, other packs can be propped up to be used as a rest, but this one actually has a built-in shooting V to cradle your gun for a rock-solid rest. The frame’s feet are built so that they will not sink into soft ground. The clear, waterproof pocket on the hood keeps your licenses, maps and other valuables dry. This pack has its own patent-pending spotting scope attachment. Besides all the great features, the construction of the frame is second to none. Jim said he wanted the pack to be extremely lightweight, yet extra durable. We used 6000 series aluminum for the lightest possible frame. With SC 210 Extreme fabric, this pack has what it takes to withstand punishing abuse in the backcountry. And once you do bag that trophy, the blaze frame pod ensures you’ve got a place to strap meat for the hike out. Four Hypalon® lashing points for gear, two on the hood and two on the sides. Compression straps and adjustable harness and waistbelt. Hydration reservoir included. YKK® water-resistant zippers. 4,400-cu.-in. capacity. Imported.
Dimensions: 32"H x 13 1/2” x 7”.

Negative Reviews:

Poorly Made

We just finished a self guided elk hunt in Colorado. My son and I both tagged out on 5x5 bulls and did all the work ourselves packing the meat out close to 10 miles for each elk. The rivets in his upper strap supports completely broke off, the buckles kept coming loose and center piece of the back support bent. My back support bent, the buckles kept coming loose and the chest strap kept breaking off. By the time we were finished we had them held together with rope and bungy cords. They do hold a lot of gear and pack gear (not meat)very nice but the quality and durability is terrible. If you kept your pack out weight to 50 lbs or less they may work nice but anything more than that and they cannot handle it. It made our pack out 10 times harder than it already would have been.

big disapointment

I went sheep hunting in the Brooks this fall and was very disappointed with the pack. I fell for the device to mount your spotting scope with. I use to do this any way with an old tripod and a few hose clamps. The worst part about this pack (aside paying $300.00 for it) is how light duty the straps are. When walking with any weight >60lbs the straps kept slipping, drove me nuts. even at 200.00 it would be a big disapointment.
