Cabela's L-Tech Fly Rods -
Among the lightest and most powerful fly rods on the market at prices no competitor can touch. Each blank is precision-crafted of a proprietary blend of IM6, IM7 and IM8 graphite for the ideal balance of line-zipping fast action and lightweight strength. The exposed-blank reel seat is constructed of high-grade machined aluminum with a bronze finish. The threaded barrel section encloses the butt end of the blank to eliminate the extra weight of a middle insert and to ensure a secure bond with the blank. An up-locking Delrin® ring ensures the locking nut snugs the reel securely in place. It flawlessly transfers energy between the backcast and forward cast, accurately propelling line to your target. Corrosion-resistant nickel-titanium-alloy REC Recoil stripper guides are 50% lighter than traditional guides and always return to their original shape. The remaining double-foot snake guides and tip top are constructed of titanium carbide. 25-year limited warranty.

Cabela's L-Tech Fly Rods Reviews:

Excellent Sensitivity

I am amazed by this rod, it has become my favorite rod to cast. the speed is Medium-Faster but the sensitivity on this rod is very high. You can feel every bit of the rod load as it builds up to its maximum. It is very smooth and the rod tells you when it has reached its peak. I bought a 4 wt 9', went to the store and cast this rod against an LSi and a TFO BVK. this rod just plain killed it. it was a breeze day and this one was able to power the line in the wind. I just sold my other 4 wts and one 5 wt because this one can cover so many bases. I don't know if it is the mixture of the various types of carbon or what but this rod has a wonderful feel and as for the look, I think it speaks the the fact that this is not your grandpa's fly rod, it is full of new technology and the look of the reel seat speaks to that. Some guys say they don't like the way it looks but I think they must be looking at their rods more than fishing them. mine stays in my car all the time and i use it about five times a weeks, fished lots of rods this one is a total winer.

Finaly replaced Grandpa's rod...

Cabelas L-Tech Fly Rod, is the best I have ever used. I have an heirloom 5 piece bamboo rod that was my grandfather's. My father told me it had been hand made, but could not remember who made it. I have used many rods over the years. I have always gone back to that old bamboo rod, often reselling the new rod. Well, I just got a rod that will finally let me retire grandpa's old rod. I've always been a little nervous about fishing with that old rod, but until now, I just couldn't find one that was as good or better. This is a wonderful product, I highly recommend it to anyone new or old pro, that wants a well made rod that performs better than those heirloom bamboo rods.

25-year limited warranty I purchased one of the above listed rods about a year ago because I needed a faster rod with backbone enough to cast on days when the wind is breezy. It wore me out to have to maneuver constantly to cast in windy conditions. This rod fits that bill very well. It casts line like a rocket, making fishing on breezy day more enjoyable and less frustrating. This rod is a good buy and I highly recommend it. The warranty sealed the deal, I will add.

Light and strong

I finally got to cast my new L-Tech 8wt rod. Matched up with a Lamson Konic reel it casts great. You can put all 90' of weight forward floating fly line out with some double hauling which for me is great. Being just an average caster this rod helps me allot.
