Cabela's Lehr Outboard Motors -
Enjoy reliable, hassle-free operation with a propane-fueled four-stroke outboard. The ultraquiet engine runs on either a disposable, camping-style propane bottle or a remote auxiliary tank (not included) for increased range (large tank hose included). Simple propane operation requires no choke, no priming and no winterizing – and you won't have to worry about gummed-up carburetors, either. Convenient, lever-mounted F-N-R (F-N on 2.5hp model) and tiller-handle throttle delivers effortless control. CDI ignition system offers reliable starting, even in adverse conditions. In addition to being more cost effective than gasoline, propane is not a marine pollutant, and produces zero evaporative emissions. Three-year manufacturer's limited warranty. Top 25 Category Product

Cabela's Lehr Outboard Motors Reviews:

Great motor

I have a little inflatable boat that I used for crabbing in salt water and fishing in salt and fresh water. I was using an 8HP 4-stoke gas engine to power it but at 90 lbs it is a hassle to get it in and out of the pickup. Decided to buy a Lehr 5HP short shaft because of the lower weight and the novelty of using propane fuel. It has been a great engine. It starts up easily, there's no carburetor to gum up, no fuel tank taking up space (although a BBQ style cylinder can be used if desired), and the power is adequate. My only criticism is that it is more plastic-y and seems a bit less sturdy than the Japanese made motors.

I just used my new Lehr 5.0 hp 20in outboard on my Santana 20 sailboat. It propelled the craft and me very impressively and it was really easy to set up and put in service. The boat draws approximately 4 ft and loaded weight must have been close to 1800 lbs. The 20 inch shaft cleared the hull easily and I believe I was making better than 6 knots at 2/3 throttle. What a treat to have this little motor!!!

LEHR 5hp Propane

Absolutely the best outboard for the money. No tuning.
No mixing fuel. Just hook up a small 1 pound propane
bottle and go fishing!! Seriously.... Amazing Motor.
