Cabela's Lightweight Cot Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Affordable, Compact Cot

Cot is functional and comfortable. I disregarded other review complaining about difficulty to set up but must confess: the set-up/take down leaves a bit to be desired. It will probably take the average person 3-5 minutes to set-up the cot and 3-5 minutes to tear it down. If you want a cot that folds out and is ready to sleep on ASAP, buy a different one. Don't forget to bring a cheap sleeping bag or heavy blanket to insulate your cot in cold weather camps. I just used mine for six nights on a deer hunt and slept well, minus two unseasonal 20 degree nights when the cot frame/fabric transferred the cold and kept me in a chill all night.

Compact and work well

After fighting with air matresses when camping we decided to get these light weight cots for the kids to use in the tent. They work well and they are claimed to be comfortable. I have not personally slept on one, but have layed down on one and it seems good. At 170lbs it keeps me off the ground without issue. Setup is a bit more than the fold open slyle, but I like the low height and compact size for transport. After setting up a few times the side rails are not as snug to install - a good thing.

great cot for the price

This is a great cot for the price. A little heavy for use for backpack camping (close to 11 pounds) but fits into many of the smaller tents. I found this easy to set up but my son (13years old) had a harder time putting it together. A little practice and he will be fine.

Negative Reviews:

Not like they used to be

While I think Cabela's gear is great, this cot does not reflect the quality of the name. It takes about 10 minutes to set up and feels mass-produced and cheap. I returned it within 2 weeks since it lacked quality. My father bought the exact same Cabela's lightweight cot about 10 years ago. It is the best cot I've ever seen. Hands down. It was stronger, easier to set up and fit into a smaller bag than the one I returned. I hope Cabela's will return to manufacturing it's original high quality cot.
