Cabela's Magtouch Spinning Rods -
Back in the early ’90s, Cabela’s introduced their original MagTouch Rods. Even back then, we could see the trend in fishing rods was to reduce weight and get your hand in touch with the blank for even more sensitivity. Now, we’re proud that technology and innovation have finally come together in the reintroduction of our new MagTouch Rods. The foundation for these rods is a 54-million-modulus omni-directional graphite blank that delivers all the sensitivity and durability expected by modern-day anglers. The new MagTouch skeletonized reel seat is lighter in weight and allows for more contact with the blank so every little tick and nibble can be felt. It also eliminates the foregrip, which increases the feeling sent to your hand during the slightest rod movement. Covered with soft-touch material, the reel seat provides a totally unique feel and all-day comfort for your hand. The multilayer graphite handle is durable, increases sensitivity and reduces the overall weight of the rod. That’s accomplished through the multiple layers, starting with the hoop construction of the interior, then the linear liner, a graphite slit layer and finally, the woven graphite handle exterior. All work in conjunction to transmit movement to the hand and reel. Fuji® aluminum oxide guides. We challenge you to fish with our  MagTouch and feel the difference it can make.

Cabela's Magtouch Spinning Rods Reviews:

I picked this rod up on Saturday to fish with on Sunday morning. I can only say I AM IMPRESSED! I normally don't write reviews but this rod made me change my mind. I have another Cabelas rod that is way more sensitive than any rod I had used before, now it feels like a brick in my hands compared to the mag touch. There is another reason I am writing this review, when I was at the store I asked if they matched the internet price. When the clerk looked up the rod he made a comment about the price ending in .88 cents. The clerk said this means that the rod is "discontinued". I hope it is this version and they are going to have a new and improved version next year, but just in case I am going back to buy another one this week!! The rod I bought is a 7' ML and I am running 6lb sinking braid. I am using this rod as a jigging stick on the Mississippi for walleye.

Wow, just what I've been looking for.

I spend most weekends surf fishing Southern California's beaches. The past two years I've been seeking the Holy Grail of light line surf fishing rods. During that time I've bought many rods, but only kept a few. On a recommendation from another surf angler, I picked up the MagTouch 703. Today was the first day I've used it, and I was totally blown away. It's light, sensitive, and has the backbone to do what I need it to do. Of all the rods I've owned and fished it has become my favorite for light line. Now if I could just convince Cabela's to make an 8'6" or 9" Steelhead model, I'd be in heaven.

The different rod in the box

You can't make a mistake when you are looking for this rod in your boats rod box, because there isn't another that looks like it! I purchased one of these rods a few years ago when I saw them on sale. I loved the sensitivity and good casting qualities of the Mag Touch design. You can almost feel it when a Bass sniffs your lure! Last season, a friend stepped on it and I was not a happy camper, because I thought they stopped making them, at least at the sale price. So, when I saw them offered again, I jumped right on it.

Great rod for the money

Get one on sale and it cant be beat. Pay full price and it still ain't bad. Just bought my third one and have been using them over past five years. Walleye over six pounds and numerous smallies from three to five pounds have been defeated by this rod. Never had any issues. Much more sensitive than you would expect with good backbone. It is light and despite lacking the traditional cork or foam grip it is easy and comfortable to hang on to.
