Works Great

This system works great. please discard the previous reviews about "sliding weight system". INSTRUCTIONS: take the bungee chord at the end with the large hole and insert it into the weight. then take the opposite end of the bungee and run through the large hole in the bungee so it chokes the weight. next cut a section of the decoy line and slip on a crimp. run the line through the small hole in the bungee and back through the crimp about a half inch. crimp the crimp with wire crimpers now. then take the opposite end of the decoy line and slip it through a depth adjuster and then through the hole in your decoys keel and then back through the depth adjuster again. done

Negative Reviews:

poorly designed

My first year waterfowl hunting so maybe this review shouldn't be taken seriously. Assuming I rigged them correctly(no instructions), crimps on hard plastic line do not work well, you have to run it through twice. Some of the holes in lead weights are too large for the rubber bungie straps causing the anchor to slip off, half way through the season and I have already lost 3 anchors. Hunting tidal areas with average current the decoys get carried down stream. I should ask for my money back, I won't buy these anchor rigs again!

inferior to avery

I found these inferior to the Ace keel hooks for several reasons. Primary issue was the rubber band - shorter and not as elastic as the Ace brand. Second issue is the weights do not have a hole at the base for tying a loop of line through to make them easier to grab with cold fingers. Third there were no directions and some assembly is required - not certain if I did it correctly. Unfortunately Cabelas no longer carries the Ace brand, I had to purchase them from a competitor.

Ugh.....good stuff, not the right materials needed

Bought these, took them home, and wanted to rig my decoys up. Open the box and there is no instructions on how to put these together. The sliding weight system is a joke. They need to get rid of those things and just give you 12 more barrel crimps. Had to run to the hardware store to completely rig all of my decoys. The rest of the stuff it came with seems to be decent quality, just wish they gave you more crimps.
