Warm and Functional

I bought these a couple of weeks ago and had the opportunity to take them out this week in 14 degree weather (-5 windchill) to go hunting. I was pleasantly surprised at how warm they were in these temperatures, even without using a hand warmer. I have used the Dry Plus Deluxe Shooters gloves in similar weather and my fingers were freezing while sitting in the tree stand. In all fairness I was walking the woods when testing the Glomitts so it isn't a complete apples-to-apples comparison to the other gloves but they still did fantastic. The magnets to hold the mitts and thumbs back worked very well as expected. The only complaint I have is that I'm not thrilled about how the leather around the fingers feels while moving & flexing my fingers. I'm no outfitter designer but I feel as though the leather & stitching could have been done in a different way to feel more comfortable. Despite this I would definitely recommend these gloves to other hunters due to their functionality and quick & quiet trigger finger access.

quality control issues.

I think that these gloves are great. i wear a liner glove underneath them and that works well for hunting. I've pheasant hunted with the windchill around -15 and they were warm but you can still work with your hands. With the leather palms they are tough and should handle a lot of abuse. They only thing that i don't like is that fingers (which when worn as mittens are covered) don't have any insulation. But there are serious quality control issues. In the first pair that i bought one of the pockets for a hand warmer was messed up and not functional. When i went to get a replacement, the first 6 pairs that I found in my size all had a magnet that was backwards. This meant that when the mitten was folded back it wan't held back as secure as it should. I did find a that didn't have any major problems. All of them had some lose threads would need to be cut, but that isn't a huge deal. This is an awesome glove, but make sure the one that you get doesn't have any problems. It might be best to wait awhile before getting these so that Cabelas can fix these issues.
