Cabela's Prestige Warm-Water Fly Line -
Aggressive front taper and specialized construction maintain a powerful turnover in warm conditions for easier casting of larger flies and better control in windy conditions. Low-stretch properties result in efficient line pickup and more solid hooksets. The PVC-free polyurethane construction proves extremely durable to withstand repeated encounters with rocks, logs and heavy weed cover, and is resistant to DEET and other chemicals. Low-maintenance, dry PTFE coating resists harmful chemicals and ensures long-lasting line slickness.
Available: Weight Forward Type F – 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

Does Exactly What It Should

I recently purchased this line for a Pike fishing excursion to northern Ontario where I was chucking large and heavy flies into wind for a week. It worked like a charm. It threw everything from Clousers to Deer Hair Poppers with ease and I was easily and regularly making 50-60 foot casts with it.
Paired with a fast action rod and wound on the reel properly with some dressing, this one is unbeatable for the price.

This line is great, throws 10" - 16" musky streamers very well as for the knotting up it does it as the line gets dirtier but every time I clean it its all good.

Try something else.

This is a good line for tossing big flies and shoots very well. However the line is constantly knotting up. I fished this line all summer and always had trouble with knots forming in the line. It really seemed like every other cast. This is the first "warm water" line I have purchased but I have never had so much trouble with a line. I bought this with a cabelas combo and really like the rod and reel that came with it.

Casts well but has some issues

I have the 7 and 8 weights of this line. They cast well and they do seem to have a tough coating that shoots well. It really does turn over big flies well, even the 7wt throws a big "hula popper" type deer hair bug with a big rubber skirt tail, I was amazed how well it cast that bug. It does knot up like one other reviewed mentioned, although I've had that on other lines too. My 8 wt line has noticeably faded; it lost some of the color while cleaning it with an SA line dressing. I've never had that problem before, and I didn't have that problem with the 7 wt. Go figure, the 7 wt is newer, perhaps there were some changes in its formulation, or maybe I will have that problem in the future?? One other thing: I usually over-line my rods by one weight for bass fishing, but that doesn't work with this line. It casts well on rod of the same AFTMA rating, The line is on sale periodically, I think its a decent value at the sale price.
