Great rod for the money

I'm writing this review after using this rod for over 3 years of salmon fishing on NW rivers. The initial reviews on the rod were terrible with most people complaining about the rods breaking during minimal or light usage. I bought the rod based on Cabela's reputation for quality and excellent product warranties and because the price was right. These rods are very light and sensitive and will not put up with any kind of abuse. Under normal use they are excellent and comparable to more expensive rods. I use them primarily for bank fishing where getting to some fishing spots requires traveling through some thick brush and climbing down some steep hillsides. All ideal conditions for breaking your rods. I've bought 3 of these rods and only one broke well hauling in a large salmon. Cabela's replaced it without any questions and paid for the shipping.

Good Quality

This is the fifth Pro Guide rod I've purchased. These are quality rods.I use them for slip bobber fishing walleyes, jigging for perch and walleyes---never had one problem. Great rod for the price.

Very good value

I have three 6'foot medium action used for walleye and three 5' light action used for perch and crappies and have had no issues. Good backbone, sensitive, and reliable. Very good overall value.

best rods

I have fished with Pro Guide IM 6 rods for 25 years. I probably own 10 or more. While this one has yet to be used, every rod exceeds expectations.
