Positive Reviews:

Great Rod!

I purchased three Prodigy rods this spring, two 6 1/2 ft. Medium Heavy and one 7 ft. Heavy action micro guide models. I was a little leary at first because micro guides don't take a lot of abuse, but so far so good. I don't know why others complained about the guides because it's just the nature of the beast and fishermen know it. As far as the rods go, very, very nice! Nice finish, great action, very sensitive, good backbone with long accurate casts. You can feel the lightest "tap tap", yet still have the guts to stick'em. I have boated several heavy bass by flipping them in the boat with no problem. They are a little heavier (just a little) than some of their competitors, but seem to be very strong and less likely to break. I fish the Mississippi River a lot, and conditions are very demanding on equipment. I am an old timer at this sport, over 40 years, and highly recommend these rods. I just ordered two more in the 6'2" Medium action for crank bait rods. When they are on sale it's just too good a deal to pass up! At the regular price they are still a bargain, big time.

Great rod

This rod easily competes with all other rods in its price range. I paired this with cabelas zx reel and throw deep cranks with it. Very light setup! It is very sensitive but also has good flex throughout the rod, not too stiff. I have had no issues with inserts but I use rod socks all the time. Also, love the reel seat but not a fan of the plastic threads. This rod is a steal for the sale price.

Bad Rod

I just got this Rod and it broke about 8" from the tip on the first cast I made with it. I now have to pack the Rod up and return it. Not Happy

Not Satisfied

I have owned two of these rods and both have lost guide inserts. Cabelas has been great about replacing these rods, but that's not the fix. I won't own another.
