Cabela's Rotary Tying Station With Tools -
Everything you need to get started tying flies is right here in this complete easy-to-use kit. Includes: a DanVise, oak pedestal/tool holder, whip finisher, threader, bodkin, scissors, hair stacker, bobbin, rotating hackle pliers and an Introduction to the DanVise video. Danvise gives true rotary action and other features that cost much more on other fly-tying vises. The jaws swivel on two ball bearings to bind the materials around the hook when it rotates, making it faster and easier to tie professional-looking flies. The jaws, made of top-quality, tempered steel, hold hooks of all sizes completely immovable, yet open and close using a simple cam-arm system. Comes with a bobbin rest/wire holder that's indispensable for creating top-quality patterns.

Fly tying stand and Vise

I looked for something that would organize materials and tools and finished flies while tying. And something that would allow storage of such materials over a long period of time.
This Stand allows me to hav everything at my fingertips. Tools, Threads and Hooks. Head Cement. And th vise itself.
great organization space. It was easy to constuct from Shipping. It is proving to be very useful. My thanks for making it available to me.
Details: It keeps 9 spools handy on the spool rests. It keeps 5 Bobbins available in the bobbin rests. The multiple bowls allow one to keep hooks and various materials on the board and available while tying a fly. The cork allows hooks of finished flies to rest while the head cement dries.

Rotary Tying Station With Tools

The quality of the Dans vise is excellent for an entry level rotary vise. I discovered that the jaws were very close to the mount so I purchased an extension and it was worth the additional cost. The extension provided the additional room to tie on various tails. Overall, the tools were of good quality with the exception of the hackle plyers. Bottom line is this is a great set for the begnner or novice tier.

great starter set up.

I did take a little practice on the first rod but the second one wrapped up well. I was not real excited all the tools but on the most part the station is well made and works quite well.

Negative Reviews:

Danvise is an expensive piece of junk.It does not hold a hook securely unless the hook is inserted too far into the jaw;furthermore, the screw handle tightening ( and untightening)the jaw is too small to operate efficiently besides the fact that the vise is as clumsy to use for a lefty as for a righty in both configurations. It's purchase even at any discount price was and is a mistake.Just another example of the importance of designing equipment in the simplest possible manner for ease and efficiency of use,and i happen to be a retired ambidextrous urological surgeon with a half-century of experience.
