Not up to my expectations: although the size of the split shot was what I was looking for, it's design is not. The "split' in the shot is an "S" shape, apparently to give the shot gripping power when it is crimped. I found that the shot slides down toward the hook when used on #4,5&6x leader tippets. You have to really crimp it down hard to avoid slippage. Once the shot is tightly crimped, it cannot be removed. So, while during fishing or at the end of the day, the shot cannot be opened to remove it from the tippet. Therefore, you must cut the tippet to remove the shot - inconvenient on the stream and wasteful at the end of the day when dismantling your rig.
