Well Made, Great Looking

I have in the past had a pair of men's moose-hide wool lined slippers from Overland. Even though the workmanship of the Overland moose-hide slippers was poor, they lasted eight years before the soles wore out. Moose or elk-hide with a wool lining is all I will consider in my choice of slipper. When I found these slippers at Cabela's I felt lucky. No one else is offering a moose or elk-hide slipper with a wool lining. Additionally, these slippers are being manufactured for Cabela's by the"CLARKS" shoe company. These Elk moccasin slippers are basically a "souped-up" version of the CLARKS Danville men's slipper. The bottom sole tread design is an exact "match." Don't take my word for this, check it out for yourself. My review is an "out of the box" first impression of this product. I am very impressed with what I see, feel, and experience with this product on my feet. They are actually more attractive "in the flush" than in the photos. The soles on my new slippers are not light colored at all. Instead, they are the same pumpkin color as the elk-hide uppers. This slipper looks and feel superb! The soles have an inner cushion that is fantastic. I can see that the stitching and construction is "first rate." The leather itself is soft and supple. No "break-in" is required. The soles appear to be thick and durable as well they should - being manufactured by the CLARKS company who has an excellent reputation for quality products. Other reviews here that mention poor durability or separation of the sole from the leather upper didn't scare me before, and they don't scare me now. Calela's stands behind their own "labeled" products with a life-time warranty against defects in manufacturing. If by some chance my new slippers "separate" before the soles are worn bare, I would expect Cabela's to offer me a replacement or complete refund. Based on what I see and feel in my hands, I expect my next review of the total life-span of these same slippers will occur no sooner than five or six years from this the twelfth month of 2013.

Very Comfortable slipper

I purchased this slipper at the Louisville store when I could not find the regular slipper that I normally get, on the suggestion of the sales person at the store. I was a bit apprehensive due to my not being familiar with the shoe but the apprehension changed to a great deal of satisfaction after putting them on. The sole is cushioned and very comfortable when I walk. I have severe neuropathy in my feet due to diabetes and these slippers are the next best thing to cushions. I have read some of the other reviews complaining about them not lasting but the reality of the situation is everything wears out. Especially shoes or slippers. If you get a year out of them how much more do you expect wearing something every day? I am buying another pair to change them out so they'll last even longer. Love the slipper and highly recommend it to anyone who desires to "pamper" their feet.

They keep getting better. Over the years I have owned three pair of these slippers and Cabela's continues to improve them. They are the most comfortable of any slipper I have ever worn. I wear them around the lodge all the time, however if I need to go outside for firewood or another chore, regardless of the seaon, I don't have to put on shoes, my Royal Elk slipper mocs serve me well.

Soft & Comfy

Bought a pair of these at the Mitchell store and really like them. Love the cushiony soles and lambs lining, they keep the feet comfortable and warm. The indoor/outdoor soles are a big plus to.
