Saddle hackles aren't for hair anymore.

At last; girls have pretty muched stopped buying saddle hackles for their hair. Now they are available for fly tying again. These are good quality saddle skins. I use these saddle hackles to tie the Chocolate Cherry. The feathers are long, the color is consistent, and there isn't a lot of web.

Great wooly hackle

I purchased this saddle to use in tying wooly buggers. The barbs are fine enough that they can be trimmed to desired length and the stem is flexible enough not to break when using a ultra small (fine) body. Great buy.

Nice woolybugger skin

larger hackles than i expected but 10 times more feathers than a woolybugger pack at only twice the cost. Like a buy 2 get 8 free deal!

Negative Reviews:

Not up to par

This is one of the few times I've really been disappointed with Cabelas.
I needed some BROWN saddle and after reading the reviews on this, thought I'de give it a try.
What I recieved was not a brown saddle but one that was Furnace in the front half and Black in the rest.
Returned it.
I'm not positive who's the supplier for these "saddles" but Cabelas should have a talk with them. It's really disappointing to be waiting for something to arrive and when it does, it turn's out to be totally useless.
