Great Gaffs

We currently have (3) of the 2' and (1) 6' units on the boat. We have been using these gaffs for two seasons for Albacore Tuna, and they work really well. They are all very well made, strong (and very nice looking as well) and should last many many more seasons.
The cork handles provide an excellent grip, even with slippery hands. They are also very light weight and because they are fiberglass and light, they can be hung from railings and grab bars and don't clank around like metal gaffs. The short ones even fit nicely in our rod holders when necessary.
We did find the hook openings were a little narrow, so we just bent them out a bit, and found they bite a little easier with a larger opening. We love 'em!

Gaff worked well with fish in excess of 50 lbs.

I use this gaff for saltwater fishing in Florida and Maryland. So far it has been great to get the fish over the side of the boat in excess of 50 lbs. I guess when I catch something larger I will have to update this review to see how it holds up, however, no complaints on this gaff.

Negative Reviews:

Not what I needd

This gaff may be OK for some fish, but I found the gaff hook too large and not sharp enough for gaffing fish through the jaw. If you go for a gill cover that will work, but you risk killing the fish that way.

Gaff disappointment

The price wasn't bad, but the gaff doesn't have the beef to bring in the 20+ lb fish I go after. Good little gaff for fish up to 10 lb or so.
