Positive Reviews:

Excellent Rod

This rod performs very well and competes very well with rods priced twice as much! I used this rod to catch 50+ cobia on 1-2 ounce jigs and it performed superbly!

works great

I purchased this rod in combo with the Saltstriker reel and they work great together. No problems at all. Great action and it can cast far. Perfect for inshore fishing.

Negative Reviews:

Not what I thoiught it would be

I purchased the ISS-794A model which is the heaviest version of this rod. I ordered it with the intent to use it for chasing old drum and cobia. The rod quality is nice for the price but it is far from being a "heavy" action. It is rated as 3/8 - 3 0z and there is no way this rod can handle a three oz lure or weight. It is a VERY soft rod. It is much more applicable to much smaller species and lures like spec, puppy drum, flounder fishing, etc.with a 20 or 30 size reel. Quality is not the problem, but the totally erroneous rating. I have to wonder if the other model #s of this rod are way off too.

Run away! Rod too fragile!

I ordered this rod thinking it would be durable based on the Cabela branding. I was wrong. The rod tip broke from normal handling before I even added a reel. So, thinking I just got a bad rod or maybe it was damaged in shipping, I returned it for a replacement. This time the rod broke about a foot from the tip while I was spooling up the reel. I never made it to the water with either rod. Customer service was friendly and let me select another model. Even the service person recommended I not get a third one of these rods given the high number of returns.
