Best I've Ever Had

The issue with which for years I've struggled has been finding slippers that accommodate my EEE feet, My foot width is the reason I buy all of my shoes at Cabelas, so I don't know why I never thought of getting their slippers. That said, I highly recommend these. As with Cabelas shoes, the sizing of these slippers seems to be accurate. Because I suffer from bursitis that sometimes ends up in my feet at the balls of my toes, I need something that provides substantial cushioning of my soles. These slippers fill that need with thick and soft encapsulated soles. In the past, slippers I have made my feet feel too hot, so the slippers were always "on-and-off". If I wore them without liner socks, my feet got sweaty. In short, I've always found slippers to be very uncomfortable. Not so with these! I first tried them wearing liner socks, but my feet got hot. I then followed the Cabelas' recommendation and wore them with bare feet. This made the difference. My feet, while warm in my Wisconsin winter climes, get neither hot nor sweaty, yet still they are always warm. As with the Cabelas shoes I buy regularly, the slippers fit perfectly upon first wearing. I was impressed with their fine construction, as was my wife. A perfect purchase worth every penny I spent. Thanks, again, Cabelas for some fine footwear to "Treat the "feet".

Great and very warm!

I just got these for Christmas and I love them. Very warm and easy to wear all day. My brother has had a pair of these for 5 years and has zip tied the sole back to the slipper in probably 20 spots and keeps repairing them because he loves them; even though he has a new pair waiting he refuses because his pair still work. Definitely worth the money. Even without socks my feet start to sweat with these on!

Negative Reviews:

Poor quality, vastly over-priced.

Quality on these slippers is quite poor and not a credit to the Cabelas brand. The stitching between upper and sole is limited to what you see in the photos – the heavy widely spaced lacing – which leaves gaps between stitches big enough to push a pencil through. The sole is a five-layer glue-up starting from the suede outside, 1/4" foam, thin leather(?) mid-sheet, another 1/8” foam layer (like a cheapy shoe insert), and finally a thin layer of what is clearly fake shearling. The mid-layer leather is stitched in along with the upper-to-sole stitching, but on the pair I received that stitching had pulled through the stitch holes leaving the mid-layer leather piece torn-away along one whole side of one slipper. This flaw is why I can see the full construction and they would have gone back on this basis alone.
On sizing – I wear a 9-1/2 E and bought 9-wide. The slippers were just about right width-wise, but were more like a size 10 length-wise.
Size and quality may simply be inconsistent since others seem happy with these, but I am very surprised they rank so highly. I was not satisfied at all and returned for a refund.

Poor quality

The waxed cord stiching holding the sole to the body of the slipper will start to come apart before a year's wear, causing the sole to come off the slipper. I ended up re-stiching them with leather boot lace in order to get a few more months out of them (which is what they should have done in the first place). Now, the machine thread stiching holding the two pieces of leather upper has begun to also come apart. Also, in less than 9 months, most of the sherling under your feet will all come out of the slippers, causing your feet to walk on bare leather. It is sprayed into the inner slipper bottoms with some sort of adheavise; and comes out like hair.
