Shotgun and rifle shell belts keep shells at your waist so they are always within reach. Rugged buckle keeps belt secure. Shotgun belt holds 25 shells. Rifle belt holds 20 cartridges. Color: Black. Available: Rifle or Shotgun.
Good value and well constructed of webbed nylon with an extra large heavy duty ABS closing system(plunge buckle). The feature that I was most surprised by was the extra long belt, used to fit, but also long enough to extend and use it as a bandelaro/shoulder length. Very handy to grab in a hurry if the need arises so you're not limited to you mag capacity, in a given situation. So far, only been a couple of months, I can see no stretching in the loops by preloading several round, to "grab and go".
The belt looks like it will be good, but in the field it's hard to use. First, the elastic is too tight - putting shells back with one hand is too difficult. This is especially problematic when walking. Second, shells worked themselves out as I walked. Several times I would hear a thud on the ground. To my disappointment, I would find shell at my feet, or behind me if I didn't hear them hit the ground. Therefore, the elastic is too tight to re-insert shells with one hand, but not enough to keep them secure when walking. Frustrating. I don't think Cabela's field tested this product. If they had, it's a shame they are selling something so inferior. My Solution: 1. I'm buying the leather belt shell holder; 2. I gave this one to my son for his Nerf Darts (that's about all it's good for) - he loves it!
Bought this shell belt because it was the only one they had at my local store besides the leather gauge specific ones. It worked, after a fashion, but the shells fell out if you bend or twist and put any pressure on them. It was also time consuming to load the belt since the loops were very tight (a condition that I'm sure was only temporary). I will purchase a neoprene belt online to replace this belt and use it as an emergency spare.
