Cabela's Switzer Primaloft 1/2-Zip Pullover Regular -
Rely on this core-warming pullover during the coldest days. Packed inside is an ultralightweight layer of PrimaLoft One insulation, the industry-leading choice for warmth, water resistance, softness and compressibility. The insulation’s ultrafine microfiber forms tiny air pockets that trap body heat and seal out cold. Because it’s water-resistant and dries quicker than goose down, this pullover insulates even when wet. The insulation compresses like goose down for easy packing. Chest and handwarmer pockets. Polyester ripstop shell with downproof weave. Imported.
Sizes: M-3XL.
Colors: Black, Surf, Pine Ridge.

So close to perfect.......

Cabela's really nailed it on this one. This is so close to perfect that I had to give it a 5. There are only two issues I have with this pullover. First is the fit is off somewhat. I'm an XL.bordering on a large. Ya see, I need the XL in the shoulders. I need a L for my midsection. The XL in this pullover was somewhat snug in the shoulders so I went to an XXL. This pullover fits too large for my midsection and looks bigger than it should be. But hey, I'm used to that anymore. Nothing ever fits right. Nonetheless, I am fine with it. Secondly, I would have much rather had a drawstring at the bottom instead of elastic. The elastic on this pullover fits a little lose and some wind does get in, but not all that much. The two issues I discussed were not enough for me to downgrade the pullover though because it serves my purpose overall.
This is a very light and highly compressible piece of gear. Being a hiker, this is what I need and find most desirable in this pullover. I am using this as part of a layering system. The other part is the Cabela's GoreTex Stowaway Rain Jacket. Together they both compress down and pack well in my backpack. And together they are very light. Not that I don't have issues with this system, ie, no pit zips is one of them, they still function well together.
Of course the pullover is my insulating layer for when the temperature drops. I learned today that this pullover will meet my needs when rhe cold sets in. Keep in mind that this is only 60gr of Primaloft One. The temperature today was 22F with steady winds of 5-7mph. I wore this pullover with a lightweight fleece and a T shirt outside. It proved to be all I needed. A little wind did get through the bottom, but it wasn't all that bad. I zipped it up, parked the zipper in the zipper garage and I was fine. Not toasty but warm for the most part. I really didn't get this for below 30 temperatures. When the temp dips below 30 I'll switch to my 100gr PrimaLoft One Cabela's Teewinot Jacket, another outstanding piece of gear.
But I really love this pullover. I hope Cabela's continues to make this pullover and offers us a drawstring hem and more colors to choose from. This is a great piece of gear.

Versatile Pullover

This is a great light weight jacket. It is just what I was looking for - something that could work on its own in light rain cool environments and be used as a layer when harsher temps/conditions warrant. I first wore this out in a downpoor (suppose to be misting!) around town and was very impressed at its ability to keep me dry. It shed off the rain and wind easily and kept me comfortable. I love the kangaroo pouch that has Primaloft on both sides. I was not really looking fo a pullover but certainly glad I gave this a shot. It will probably get more use than a full zip jacket would in my closet now that I have used it and like it. Like others have said it is not really designed for the "backcountry" but a great layering piece or stand alone piece on manicured trails. I saved a ton over the bigger name companies for the same quality PLUS more features. Thanks Cabela's!

Super Warm

I'm very satisfied with this product. I use it as a warmup for XC skiing. I also pack it on backpacking and wilderness canoe trips. The jacket has replaced my down vest on these edge season trips. The weight and pack size is similar to the vest but the synthetic insulation provides warm even when wet. I wear it under my goretex rain jacket to create a winter jacket while camping. The roo pocket works great to warm your hands. Why 4/5?? I would prefer to have pit zips to regulate ventilation and heat. I would not recommend this soft nylon in the woods without an outer shell. Use caution near stoves and camp fires.

Very Impressed!

I must say I am most pleased with this pullover! It may not look too lofty but in this case looks are deceiving! This is one of the warmest mid-layers I have ever used! Plus it is very lightweight and packs down to nothing! I love green and purchased the same. The colour is most excellent. Really "blends" well in the woods that I call home. The Primaloft this pullover useth is very good. Drys fast as advertised and provideth warmth without excessive bulk. Thou wilt not be disappointed with this Cabela's Switzer PrimaLoft® 1/2-Zip Pullover! I'm not! :)
