Cabela's Telescoping Lantern Stand

I initially purchased this stand to place over my camp cooking area. After realizing how how the arm extends I decided to incorporate it into my camp shower setup. I have the Cabelas Deluxe camp shower. I am 6'4" and attempting to shower using the included shower bag attached to the top of the tent is not very practical unless your 5' or shorter. I placed the telescoping stand next to the shower and filled the shower bag up. Now i DID NOT pull the hanging device on the stand to its intended location for a lantern to hang the shower bag due the weight of the bag. I just hooked the bag through the metal loop and the stand held beautifully. I then just cut a small slit in the mesh at the top of the shower and fed the hose through it. Made for a much more comfortable shower. The stand is surprisingly strong and I am very pleased with it thus far.

I purchase this stand because every time you camping there is not always a tree right near the stove. I was very suprised that the stand is nice and sturdy and actually comes with a storage bag and 3 screw down anchors that will keep it from tipping. The only MINOR drawback is that the stand height lock is of the pressure variety. I will probably get some pins and drill some holes as added support. VERY MINOR issue to me but I am weird about such things. Now I can have bright light right at the stove when cooking after dark. Yipee!!

This is a good stand...got it for ice fishing, like the fact it can be adjusted to lower height. We will use it for camping, too. Comes with stakes to stabilize it at higher settings. Comes with a decent carry bag. Good product for the money.
