Cabela's Three Forks/Prestige Plus Fly Combo -
We've paired our popular Three Forks rod with the value-packed performance of our Prestige Plus reel for exceptional performance at an amazingly low price. Combo includes Cabela's Three Forks weight-forward floating fly line, leader and backing.
For years, Cabela's Three Forks rods have been the choice for anglers seeking a quality fly rod at an affordable price. The components create a look and feel you'd expect from a rod costing three times as much. The 7'6" 3-weight and 8' 5-weight models feature a moderate action. All other rod models have a moderate-fast action that is great for beginners and experienced anglers alike. Cosmetics include appealing burnt-olive-colored blanks, dark cocobolo reel seats and double-foot snake guides. The 8- and 10-weight models feature aluminum reel seats and fighting butts.
We took the value-packed performance of our popular Prestige series reel and stepped everything up a notch. The disc-drag system sports a cork drag washer and adjusts to a wide range of settings. The cast-aluminum frame has an unmatched strength-to-weight ratio, and the midarbor design yields plenty of backing capacity for battling long-running fish. The molded, paddle-style handle and large drag-adjustment knob round out the features on this exceptional reel.

Cabela's Three Forks/Prestige Plus Fly Combo Reviews:

Great combo for the price

Bought this combo in 5 wt with a 9' 2 piece rod. Have fished up to 16" largemouth with poppers on lakes as well as bluegill and trout on both a pond and small creek. The rod has had no issues handling any of these fish and has performed better than I would have expected, allowing delicate presentation of dry flies for the latter and long casts for the poppers. The reel is awesome as well. The drag system works effeciently although I have always fought fish by stripping line not on the reel; I imagine it wouldn't have any issues if I chose to. Only complaint is that the finish on the reel has begun to chip a bit, which may be my fault for treating it a bit rough at times. You can't go wrong with this combo IMO

Awesome Purchase

I bought a 4 piece 5wt combo to start and the quality of everything was way better then i ever expected i had a tight budget and this rod exceeded my needs. I've used it for everything from bluegill to largemouth. I loved it so much i went back and purchased an 8wt for an upcoming steelhead trip and it handled it like a champ not once did the drag slip definitely recommended to anyone who is on a budget and needs a good sturdy rod that can handle tough fish

Good product

Overall I have enjoyed this product. I have the 3W. I had the same problem as a previous reviewer. I was practice casting in my yard and the top section suddenly snapped at the joint. Of course Cabelas was great during the return process. The second one has performed flawlessly. Able to cast further than expected. Have caught several "large" fish on it and it handled them fine. I would recommend definately.

Great little rod

I already have a Cabela's 5wt and 8wt that were higher end rods. I found myself at ponds and smaller streams more often than not and the 5wt was a bit too much rod for blue gill. This is a great little rod and it can cast much further than I expected. This is now the tod that lives in my car for those spur of the moment fishing opportunities.
