Cabela's Tournament Zx/Premier Split-Grip Spinning Combo Review:

First St. Croix rod of many

I bought this combo at my local Cabelas as I wanted this pole and a decent reel for it. The combo was easy to arrange, just had to find an associate and they looked up the appropriate sku and it's like buying the two items separate, but ringing up together at the register. As far as the rod and reel, I got the 7' ML 1piece for use mainly as a walleye bobber rod. I will use it for other species as well (Smallmouth, Crappie), since I try to get rods that will work for multiple applications. The reel I got was the ZXS20, while it has a very nice build, I haven't got to test it out on any fish yet. I have noticed while using it that the bail doesn't flip over easily on it's own, that is a mild annoyance. It reels smooth and has a good feel to the drag though so for a bobber rod it will work great.
