Fan of Tourney Trails...

I now consider myself to be a fan of the Tourney trail line of Cabelas spinning rods. I presently own 5 of them, and everyone has performed very well. The rods are sensitive, durable and lightweight. I have the medium power version of this rod for light saltwater shoreline whipping when I travel. It can handle lures well within the stated rating of 1/4-3/4 and will even throw something a little heavier as well. It is not specifically designed for the salt, but handles it fine if you make sure to wash it down with freshwater after use. These rods also do have guides on the small side, but I have never noticed any detrimental casting/functional effects because of this, except if you are trying to cast/reel bulky knots through the guides. The overall design of these is excellent, from the built in hook keeper, to the somewhat unique reel seat design that has the locking nut attached to the front grip, which accommodates a wide variation of reel feet sizes. Imho it is a superior design to the usual single back ring you see on most rods.(I wish the salt striker line had a similar setup..hint hint.) For those that are interested. The rod breaks down into 30" sections and the tube length is 32". That is for the 7' medium model. I would rate these rods at double the value of what you pay, easily. Especially considering that this model is a travel type. And lastly. Mine did indeed come with a nice travel tube, even though it is not specifically mentioned in the description, and contrary to an answer list in the q&a

Tourney Trail 3 pc. rod is awesome!!!

I bought the 7 foot medium action rod to go surf fishing in Mexico. I was pleasantly surprised and will be buying several more for Boundary Waters and Canada fishing trips. I don't own any breakapart rods and had no idea they could be this sensitive. Definitely recommend this rod.

Don't Leave Home Without it

Took it on a trip to Florida and at 7' it was easy to cast from shore and I used it everyday without any problems. Great sensitivity and action.
