Cabela's Trans-Alaska Elite 650 Goose-Down Parka Regular Reviews:

Outstanding coat

I don't usually comment things that I buy, but I just had to weigh in on the TransAlaska Elite Down Parka.
I purchased this coat about 3 months ago (October 2013) from Cabela's in Hamburg, PA and I couldn't happier. I don't do well in the cold of New Jersey during the winter, but this winter proved the value of this coat. With the brutal cold that we have been having so far this winter, this coat is, by far, the BEST coat I've ever owned. Wearing fleece lined jeans, a fleece lined shirt and this coat, walking my dog at night in 6 degree weather I was warm and toasty. This coat is a WINNER... a WINNER! Thanks Cabela's for a well made and worth every cent outerwear garment.

My others pale in comparison!

Bought one for my son for walking across campus in Michigan. I wore it a couple times after Christmas and when he went back to school I order my own! I really like it, even at -15F. It's cut big so I can wear a hoodie underneath for some extra insulation. We both like them!

More info for my review

See my review below. Since I can't edit my review I will just add this. Used this parka up in Barrow Alaska. It was well below zero and very windy. Warm as toast. This is a great coat. Remember that layering is a whole system, not just the jacket

Bombproof to Cold Weather

This is by far the warmest coat that I've ever owned. The build quality of the coat is excellent and has served me for several years now. It is a very serious coat and can be a little overkill if it's not cold.
