Cabela's Tripod Stool Xl Reviews:

There's just some treestands I don't trust

... and for those, I have this stool. It's light-weight, straps easily to my pack, instant set up, and fairly comfortable. This stool works perfectly sitting in the blind that surrounds that one tree stand I wouldn't trust a squirrel's weight in. I can sit for hours, stretch out my legs, and I'm not restricted to just looking one direction as I can rotate my body quietly any which way I want to. It does get a little uncomfortable after a bit, especially if you have a bad back (I do). I would've preferred to have adjustable legs (for uneven terrain) or a swivel seat but I knew it lacked that going in and for the price can't complain. 5 stars functionality, 4 stars comfort. I'm sticking with 4 stars because I don't care how well it works if I'm not comfortable in it.

comfy but durability in question

Originally I ordered two of these chairs. They are nicely thought out, and comfortable. One is used in DH's work van and is holding up fine. The other, in use at home, suffered a cracked retaining ring (where the legs slide through). That chair was promptly replaced by Cabelas. Time will tell if the failed chair was simply defective, or if the chair design is the real issue.

I use this chair, fishing, camping, mall (looking at DVD'S gets tiring) ,It has a strap to carry which is convent and I exceed the weight limit by 60 lbs but it's built so well that it still as strong as the first day I got it...

light weight option

Used them in elk camp this fall,
saved a lot of weight , comfy and seemed to be tough.
good option instead of bulky chairs.
