Fun way to get started

My son and I have had fun with this kit. It has all you need to get started and is cheaper than trying to start with specific items. Tying flies is more fun than either of us expected.

Great kit!!!

I bought it for my son and I. He gets really creative with the ones he makes, mine however... Not so much! I have also started to use it for tying teaser hooks for saltwater fishing.

Negative Reviews:

Sadly, the vise is a piece of junk

First, no instructions came with the vise although the buyer is directed to the "included instructions" to learn how to set up the vise. Of course, one would think instructions wouldn't be necessary for a tool as simple as a vise. I ended up going online to find a similar product on youTube so I could figure out what I must be doing incorrectly. Turns out the cam/handle hole is not located properly so that when you try to tighten the lock handle down on a hook, it gets to a point on the cam/handle and then the "squeeze" is released and the hook falls to the floor. I tried the two other heads that are included with the kit and they too did the same thing. (Not to mention, the retaining bolt is the wrong size for the two accompaning heads. Fortunately, you can use the one that came with the loaded head for the other two.) I was able to tie one fly by adjusting the lock nut to the point that I could secure the hook by balancing the handle at what appeared to be the point that any further clamping action would release the pressure instead of increasing the hold. Very poor quality. Do not buy if you are a beginner, you will be very frustrated. I plan to return to get something that works.

Poor Master Vise

I order this kit with the master vise, the master vise is very poorly made ! it won't hold the hook very good ,I've had countless hooks fall out while tying! I have an cheap vise that hold alot better.
Spend the money and get a better one !
The sissors could be shaper, the thread could be stronger ! all in all spend the money and get a better kit!
