Cabela's Ultimate Alaknak Tent 12' X 12' -
The next generation in the Outfitter Series tents has enhanced safety features and user-friendly updates that take it to a whole new level. Sidewall condensation vents now have hook-and-loop closures all around the perimeter for better ventilation control. Three large multi-panel windows each have a zippered cover, a clear vinyl window that zips out of the way, and a mesh screen for added ventilation. The stove jack is covered by a storm flap that now rolls down to avoid contact with the piping, so it won't melt the material. This 12-ft. x 12-ft. tent has 4-ft. walls and an angled roof window which will comfortably sleep six, with plenty of room for a stove. Rugged, waterproof 250-denier polyester oxford X-Treme Tent Cloth has a high tear strength and resists punctures for lasting reliability. 10 perimeter tent poles keep the sidewalls from blowing in and add rigidity in high winds, so you can camp comfortably knowing you're protected. The heavy-duty No. 10 YKK® zippers and inverted T-style door makes entering and exiting the tent easy. Plus, it's backed by a screen door, so you can let cool breezes in while keeping bugs out. The attached awning boasts a frame that comes down from the peak of the tent and directs runoff away from the door for superior protection in the wettest weather. The sidewalls have unique fold-down shelves that sport cup holders to eliminate spilled beverages and gear pockets to hold gear. The floor has a zip-open panel for safe placement and stove use. Tent sets up quickly and easily. Includes 12" steel stakes, guy ropes and a large zip-close storage bag.

Cabela's Ultimate Alaknak Tent 12' X 12' Reviews:

Home Away From Home 4 yrs later

Please see my first review was on Jan 16, 2011. It's now been 4 yrs. of my tent being set up in mid October and taken down in mid Jan. in a pine forest in Georgia. The only thing I 'm doing different is I switched from an air mattress to the Extra large cots and pads from Cabelas. The tent has never leaked or shown any signs of wear. All the seams, zippers, poles, floor and tent stake straps are in like new condition. They thinned the pines in our area including around my camp causing a large amount of dirt and dust to stick to tiny drops of pine sap on the tent making a mess. I used IOSSO tent and camping gear cleaner that I got from Cabelas and to my surprise it removed all the sap and all but a few stains. This year I sealed the seams with sealer provided with the tent and also sprayed a light coat of KIWI water proofing on the tent and vestibule. I had a great year hunting, camping and look foward to setting up my Alaknak 12x12 next season. I will continue to update this review over the years ahead. Good Camping!

Cheaper than an RV

I have had the 12x20 Alaknak tent for 5 years know and decided it was time to say how great a tent it is. It has been on many elk and deer hunts in Oregon and Idaho and always takes great care of us no matter what Mother Nature tries to throw at us. My uncle calls it the Taj Mahal. Over the years, we have customized our tent to work no matter what time of year it is. We have cut tarps into triangle piece with Velcro to cover up all 6 vent holes when it gets below freezing. We tie a rope from 1 main pole to the other That way we can run LED lights across it and hang clothes. We use one versatube for wood and the other as a cooking area. If you use a wood stove don't get the water tank, that you connect to the stove for hot water. It will be like a rain Forrest in your tent. Having the 5 foot side walls, allows us to put our xl cots up against wall and the storage totes under.

great tent

I purchased this tent in Oct for a hunting trip to Montana in late Nov. The 10x20 slept six comfortably. I also had a woodburning stove for heat and even at -3 degrees the tent stayed warm and cosy. I also purchased an alcove and it really was nice for cooking. Stayed in the tent a total of 9 days. Never had any really strong winds but did have some gusts up to 35mph,and 7 inches of snow one night. Never had any problems. The tent was easy to set up and take down . Everyone on the trip was very impressed with the tent.

7 years and still going strong

Have had the 12x20 for seven seasons and it is still going strong. I have had no leaks or problems with zippers. The only repair that I have had to make on it was last season when a small hole pin hole was created on the roof because of a small spark that escaped from the spark arrestor I use on the stack. Every year this tent is home for 12 days at an elevation of about 6000 feet in north east Washington for deer camp, and multiple times through out the spring summer and fall for family camping.
