Cabela's Ultimate Insulated Contour Hip Boot -
When we put the name "Ultimate" on these hip boots, we made sure they were the most durable, comfortable and affordable boots on the market. And now we've improved them even more by using a specially formulated rubber that dramatically increases durability yet remains soft and flexible for comfortable all-day wear. An air-bob outsole grabs the softest mud for a stable footing, while the comfortable, contoured ankle fit cradles and supports your ankle for long days of walking and standing on soft, unstable surfaces. This ankle-fit construction also prevents the boot from pulling loose when trudging through the thickest mud. The upper skirt of the wader is backed with stretch nylon to increase the comfort of the upper and make for easy on and off. And to ensure your waders fit as snugly through the lower leg as they do in the ankle, a specialized calf harness with Velcro® adjustment prevents any sagging or slippage. Insulated model is packed with 600-gram Thinsulate™ to keep your feet warm while standing in icy waters. Nylon web belt strap with quick-release buckles. Imported.
Weight: 7 lbs./pair.
Men's whole sizes: 7-14.

Replacement for set from 1997

I received a set of these for a present in 1997. I've used them every year, 3 seasons of the year, until they gave up the ghost this summer. Holes and lining rotted out. First the bad: The upper legs have gotten thinner. I'm a big guy (bigger that I should be), more than one set of pants (no long-johns)will be a challenge with the new set. The belt loops are permanently attached. You use them, live with them or cut them off. I don't use the loops. The wader material itself is thinner. The old ones held up to volcanic rock, shale and expanded metal. The improvements: The lining is nicer, not canvas. The calf harness is Velcro, not laces. The "ankle fit" is looser. My old and new sets are a size and a half larger than I normally wear. The old takes grocery bags and a come-a-long to get them off. The new ones are easier, just my arms. I have a very wide foot, EE. The old ones were used in EVERY climate and terrain in Alaska. I've worn them for two week straight in the mountains (caribou) to duck hunting to trapping. Fresh and salt water, fishing, hunting, working... Lasted 15 years. I am hoping these do the same

Best Hippers Ever!

After retiring my 30 year old hippers it took a lot of review reading to convince me to order these boots. I have a very wide foot and a lot of reviewers claimed difficulty putting them on & OFF. Well, I ordered 1 size larger and have no problems with this issue. Even my socks stay on after taking the boot off. Fit & comfort are superb, and the boot is well & thoughtfully made in all respects. Thanks, Cabelas.

Best hip waders

These are the best hip waders I've worn. They are sturdy and the velcro around the calf makes them easy to walk in. The rubber is good quality.

Negative Reviews:

Can't put on

I am returning these for a refund. I was not able to put the boots on, even without any socks on my feet. As another reviewer noted, the ankle is too narrow.
