Cabela's Ultimate Uninsulated Contour Hip Boot -
When we put the name "Ultimate" on these hip boots, we made sure they were the most durable, comfortable and affordable boots on the market. And now we've improved them even more by using a specially formulated rubber that dramatically increases durability yet remains soft and flexible for comfortable all-day wear. An air-bob outsole grabs the softest mud for a stable footing, while the comfortable, contoured ankle fit cradles and supports your ankle for long days of walking and standing on soft, unstable surfaces. This ankle-fit construction also prevents the boot from pulling loose when trudging through the thickest mud. The upper skirt of the wader is backed with stretch nylon to increase the comfort of the upper and make for easy on and off. And to ensure your waders fit as snugly through the lower leg as they do in the ankle, a specialized calf harness with Velcro® adjustment prevents any sagging or slippage. Uninsulated boot model for use in warm weather. Nylon web belt strap with quick-release buckles. Imported.
Weight: 7 lbs./pair.
Men's whole sizes: 7-14.

watch out if you are tall

just purchased a pair and overall good boot, i like the snug fit in the ankle area, boots shouldn't pull off easily in soft bottom areas. also the boot foot adds good support to the sole and the cleated bottom gives good traction. one caution, i am 6' 3" and purchased a size 11 boot. the built in straps to attach to your belt are not long enough for me even though i have adjusted them as long as they will go. still tugs down on my belt when I am wearing them. try them on and fasten them completely if you are trying them on in the store, they are constructed so there is no other option to do a longer strap.

GREAT BOOTS!

I HAVE BEEN BUYING THESE BOOTS FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. THEY WORK WELL FOR GOING OUT INTO THE RICE FIELDS. THE CONTOUR ANKLE WORKS WELL TO KEEP THE BOOT ON YOUR FOOT, BECAUSE THE MUD WANTS TO PULL IT RIGHT OFF. THIS BOOT HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS. IT ISN'T QUITE THE SAME BOOT I BOUGHT BACK IN 1990, BUT WE STILL LIKE THEM. OF COURSE IF YOU COULD GET THAT BOOT BACK IT WOULD REALLY MAKE US HAPPY.

good hip boots

These are good hip boots, but they're not near as comfortable as the insulated contour hip boots. I had a pair of the former that were stolen. When I went to replace them, the only hip boots cabelas had in stock were the uninsulated. They are also pretty cold in a creek. They're a pretty good boot, but I'd spend the extra $20 and get the insulated boots.

Tight Ankle

The hip boots that I purchased tend to be too tight around the ankles. I know this was one of the features about them however they create a differculty in putting them on and off. I am fearful that this feature may result in the boots splitting because of the force used inorder to put them on and take them off.
