Upland Game Pants

If you are looking for waterproof and windproof upland game hunting pants, I doubt there is any better than these. I wear jeans under these, so warmer weather might see you not wearing these pants..........just a thought. (I believe these were designed to fit over pants........might purchase size with that in mind. Would highly recommend, although very expensive.

Dry pants

bought these to pull over motorcycle riding pants, so size seems fine (bought one size bigger than normal)
Used them through all the rain on the East coast last couple weeks, Just fine, good zippers, and cuffs, plenty of belt loops. Cons- No suspender attach fittings and No bib front. They will keep you dry.

Missed the mark

I had high hopes for these pants. I have owned a pair of the Cabela's upland dry plus pants for years, and they have served me well. I decided to drop some cash for what appeared to be an upgrade. I was very disappointed when they arrived. The first thing I noticed was that they were extremely noisy! They were louder than my chest waders. The next big problem I found was the zippered pockets. At first I thought waterproof zippers on the pockets would be a good idea until I tried them on. The pockets have no depth. They end at the zipper. So if you happen to leave it down and go out into the field, you will likely loose anything you have in them. Not sure how that one slipped past the QA peeps. My final gripe would be with the expensive waterproof zippered pant leg. Not really sure how that helps. I cant imagine wanting to take these off with your boots on. They are not a bib or coverall....maybe some would like that feature, but I think it adds too much money for really no benefit. I didn't try them in the field, so I can't really vouch for their performance, but they really left a sour taste in my mouth by just putting them on and walking around inside the house. Save your money and buy the older version.

Not for me!

I bought these pants thinking that they would be an improvement on the old ones. They fit about right in the waist, but bunch in the thighs, are loud, shallow pockets that are difficult to access unless standing completely upright, the snap is tiny and does not hold well when closed, it should be a button. Just disappointed for the price, I'm thinking of taking them back. If Cabela's would give me a call, I could help them design some great upland pants.
