Cabela's Woodsman Gun Safe By Liberty Review:

I purchased the safe for three reasons.
1. I have toddler
2. I needed a secure place to store firearms and documents
3. It provided a level of security at a reasonable price. The safe itself is solid. It lacks some of the finishing touches you get with the higher end safes, but you get what you pay for. The shelf brackets are off a little. One side is about 3/8" higher than the other side. The door rattles a little when locked meaning it isn't a perfect seal. The finish of the carpeted interior almost makes me want to refinish it myself. With that being said, the textured satin exterior finish is nice. It doesn't show finger prints etc like gloss finishes do and it does a fair job of hiding small scratches from toddlers and movers. The bearings on the dial combination lock are a little rough. I don't mean that they are sloppy, but you can feel them as you slowly turn the dial. You can also feel the resistance change as you are entering the combination. You don't have to be exact when entering the combo either. As long as you are within 3/4 of a tick mark of each number the safe will open. Eventually when I stop moving I will probably upgrade to a bigger and more polished safe. However, in the mean time this safe is more than adequate. Its storage options allow me the flexibility to store my firearms, official documents and valuables with relative peace of mind. If you are on a budget and aren't looking for a show piece. This safe will work for you.
