Cabela's Xml Walleye Series Spinning Rods -
From finesse jigging to dragging bottom bouncers, these models match many of the most popular walleye-fishing tactics. They feature legendary XML 64 million-modulus graphite blanks, lightweight, super-durable, chrome-coated SS316 stainless steel Alps™ guides. Precise guide spacing compacts the distance between guides from the middle to the tip of the rod. This increases sensitivity and decreases line drag. Fuji® VSSM reel seats. Cork grips. Certain models accept the XML Weight-Balancing System sold separately.

Great rod; with an exception

This rod has a great crankbait/moderate action feel to it. The longer rear grip allows for some double handed casts when you really want to fire your crank out there a good distance. It also rests nicely on your forearm during a retrieve. My only issue is that the reel seat threads seem to be extra long. When the reel is tightened down, your fingers (in my case, my index finger) rest directly on the threads. This is annoying, because it's an uneven surface and the area is extra skinny, allowing only minimum contact with the fore grip. I have an XMLS704-1A , which I use for plastics. No problems there!

Nice sensitive and lightweight

This rod compares favorably to those costing twice as much. It is very sensitive, lightweight and well made.

Negative Reviews:

Not Sensitive

I bought the moderate action model for bottom bouncing in the Niagara River. It is important to keep the bait near the bottom, but not get the drop weight dragging behind.
I'm not happy with the sensitivity. A rod at this cost should be more sensitive.

Neutral Reviews:

Not the best design

This rod is heavier than it should be by at least 1.5 ounces given the claimed high modulus blank. It weighs in over 6 ounces. Guide layout on the first four guides could be better as well.
