Warm vest no bulk

I got this vest to use as a packable insulation layer. I am pleased with it,. it is light weight, packs down into it's own stuff sack about the size of a nalgene bottle. The vest has large zippered hand warmer pockets, and two zippered chest pockets.
The outer shell is a peached nylon that is quiet, but not silent. I am not sure how durable the outer shell would be bushwhacking through redbrush, and rose bushes, So I will avoid the jaggers with it on as an outer layer.
I have a down vest also, and this is as warm as the down vest, but not as puffy. the stand up collar keeps the neck warm, and the zipper is snag free all the time.
The fit is true to size and generous, and has an elastic drawcord at the bottom.
I wouldn't consider this as ultralight, but it is lightweight. I think down would be lighter, but not as durable and resilient insulation as primaloft..

Must have layer for hunting

Very well designed, good pockets (5), light weight, packs easily and very warm for the size/weight, perfect under Gore-Tex for cold windy weather between 20-30 degrees. Lucky enough to get one in Outfitter camo, would love to have another in loden green for non-hunting wear!

Primaloft Vest

Vest is warm and lightweight. Forget about it for hunting. Way too noisy.

Negative Reviews:

Not Durable

Like a down vest without the stuffing. Material rips easy. Bought it on sale and still not worth the money. By far my worst clothing purchase at Cabelas.
