Caldwell brass catcher

First things first, It works well for what it is designed for catching a big bag full of brass. The large net bag is roomy and holds a mag or two of brass and the zipper makes empting the bag a snap. I really liked that the catcher can be slid off the mounting block and installed on another gun if you have a spare mounting block, no need to buy two. The biggest problem I encountered was the really cheap Torx screws used in mounting the mounting block to the Picatinny rail. The screws appear to be made out of cast metal and didn’t hold up to the T10 screw driver very well. The two top screws held up the best, but the side mount screw stripped out with very little effort and I had to use a very small flat blade to set the screw and torque it down. With a simple replacement of the screws with a more common Allen head screw this could be a really good set up. Hope Caldwell shooting supplies takes notice and fixes the poor workmanship with the screws.

Works exactly as it was supposed to

I see other reviewers have mentioned the quality of the mounting screw, but apart from that, as BlendTec would say "Does it catch Brass?" Yes, it does. Put mine on a Ruger SR-556 Works great, one you install the base on your rail, snapping the catcher on at the range is trivial, and I got at least 70 cases in there and there was plenty of room for more - and a gallon ziplock caught 'em all without removing from the rifle. I save brass to reload, this keeps the brass from scuffing, loss and damage, plus the time to search around for them all. Wish they made one that worked this well for pistols.

Great product for the price

This is a much better choice than the mesh bag Velcro to the barrel and a lot cheaper than the others that are similar to it. There are nicer brass catchers on the market but you are going to pay through the nose for them and they really don't work any better than this one. It is fully adjustable to work around most optics and I have found that it works on all gun platforms that have a pic rail.
